MARKDOWN AND GITHUB
Markdown is a lightweight markup language for creating formatted text using a plain-text editor. It has been characterized by an informal specification and a reference implementation for conversion to HTML and its used for styling all forms of writing on the GitHub platform.
IMPLEMENTATIONS
TEXT
You can control the display of the document; formatting words as bold or italic:

You can make the text bold by using ** , ** so if you typed ** bold ** it will appear bold

You can make the text italic by using _ , _ so if you typed _ italic _ it will appear italic

You can combine them (_ You ** can** combine them_)
LINKS
You can add a link for an external site by using these two methods:
http: //github. com - it will make a link automatically
[ GitHub ] ( http://github.com) will appear GitHub
IMAGES
you can add images by using this code ![ ] ( )
the image ALT goes between [] and the URL for the image path goes between ().
GITHUB PAGES AND THEMES
GitHub Pages are public web pages for users, organizations, and repositories, that are freely hosted on GitHub’s github.io domain or on a custom domain name of your choice. GitHub Pages are powered by Jekyll behind the scenes, so they’re a great way to host your Jekyll-powered website for free.
